Travel as you earn: 5 jobs you can do on the go

Have you always loved to travel and explore the world but couldn’t because you had a demanding workload and life? According to research, we spend almost 1/3 of our lives working at our jobs. This hardly leaves you any time to take a break and do everything you’ve always wanted to.

But there’s a solution! With all that the internet has to offer now, you can do jobs on the go and earn while you’re traveling. The benefit of working as you travel is that, instead of taking time off work, you can do it where ever you go and whenever you want.

However, you must remember that working on the go isn’t like finding jobs when you’re traveling. The kind of careers we are going to be discussing are those that are performed inside and outside an office.

So, without further ado, here are 5 jobs you can do that will help you travel as you earn.

The job: Customer service representative

Who it is for: If you’ve always had a way with people and love to talk your way through anything and everything, you should become a customer representative. There is a lot of demand in the market for customer service representatives because every professional and customer-centered website hires agents who can talk to their consumers and resolve issues.

This job requires a range of skills including excellent speaking abilities, proficient computer skills and the ability to understand and address customer issues. You can work either full or part-time as a customer service representative and earn anywhere between $8-$18 an hour depending on your experience and skill level.

The job: Writer/blogger or editor

Who it is for: If you’ve had experience with content writing and blogging, this is the kind of profession you should be looking for. You can either find sources that distribute their work or find your clients through freelance websites such as Freelancer or Fiverr. If you’re really passionate about traveling then travel-blogging can be an excellent option for you as well.

But remember that because the competition is particularly tight, you’ll need to work hard and not give up. You can also take things to the next level and start a travel blog of your own. Though you’ll be putting in a lot of hours, your enterprise, once established, will help you earn big and have fun on the go. You can hope to make anywhere between $5-$30 per hour as a writer and hone your skills as you go along.

The job: Virtual assistant

Who it is for: Virtual assistants are needed by almost every business. More and more entrepreneurs have started to focus on online presence and help their customers virtually. If you can multitask and are well known for your organizational skills, you can apply for positions as a virtual assistant. You’ll be required to do everything an assistant or secretary has to while employed at a physical office. Everything from answering emails to managing calendars and making appointments will be your responsibility. You will have to make sure that everything is perfectly planned and prepared. The virtual assistant’s job pays anywhere between $10-15 an hour, and you can find opportunities on websites such as FlexJobs and Upwork.

The job: Professional English trainer

Who it is for: The role of a corporate or professional English trainer is one where you’ll need to be a native to the language. Though you’ll need some office experience, it is not something that is mandatory as long as you have your own computer and a reliable internet connection. You’ll mostly be speaking and training students from countries such as Japan, Germany, Korea and France and will be expected to help them learn how to make proficient small talk or speak during meetings.

Also, because you’ll be working with students from different time zones, you might be working late into the night. Corporate English trainers make anywhere between $15-20 per hour depending on the hours they commit and can hope to have fun all at the same time.

The job: Au Pair

Who it is for: If you’re a travel enthusiast and have a knack for working with children, you should try your luck at becoming an Au pair. Au pairs are live-in teachers who provide education, babysitting and childcare services to the children of their host.  The benefit of becoming an Au pair is that you won’t just be getting a salary for the work that you do but will also be provided with accommodation and food.

Moreover, if you’re a travel junkie who loves to learn new things about foreign cultures, this particular job will provide the perfect platform for you to do precisely that. The per hour rate of an au pair will differ from country to country so make sure you know what you’re getting into.

With one or two of these jobs to cover your travel costs, you won’t have to worry about showing up to work at 9 am sharp or working day and night just so that you can have some fun.

Great guide and things any blogger should know before starting a blog. I love the idea of preparing the standing desk and writing tools. Avoiding the haters and keeping it up with our blogging the most essential thing. If a blogger is affected by the negative comments, the focus is always distracted.
